Exceptional 19th Century Cabinet Card of Two Finish Carpenters
Dressed in their Sunday Best Clothes for their photograph, these two Finish Carpenters are justifiably proud of their work.
Luckily for us, a traveling photographer took this one of a kind cabinet card photo for history. Taken on site, you can see their workbenches, hand planes, hand saws, try square and parts of the fixtures they are making for the home under construction. I have seen a number of period photographs depicting carpenters and their workbenches On Site. The importance of a workbench cannot be stressed enough.
