Baldwin Plane Company Grooving Planes

Baldwin Grooving Planes Wall Art Adapted from the original Baldwin Plane Manufacturer Trade Catalog in my personal collection. The 1858 Baldwin Plane trade catalog has an interesting history. I purchased it as part of an ephemera lot from a South Carolina dealer. Everything in the lot was heavily soot and smoke stained, water stained and stinky. From what I could learn of the lot, it came from the attic of a defunct retail hardware store in Charleston, SC. Unfortunately, by the time I learned of the auction lot, the rest of the attic contents had been sold. The catalog paper is very fragile. Dry, stained, wrinkled and difficult to conserve.
